Aaron Doyle Lowery

Aaron Doyle Lowery, 84, of McConnelsville and formerly of Columbus passed away at 3:43 a.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Riverside Landing Nursing & Rehab in McConnelsville. He was born June 27, 1931 in Richwood, W.V. to the late Mirl Lowery and Mamie Rigsby Lowery. Aaron served in the U. S. Army Reserve for 30 years and retired as a Master Sargent. He also served in the U. S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War as a crew chief on the U.S.S. Navarro for 5 years, 10 months, and 22 days. Aaron was retired from Rockwell International of Columbus where he was the manager of machine and fabrication. He was a 57 year member of York Lodge #563 F. & A. M. of Columbus and the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus. He also was a member of the Aladdin Shrine and the American Legion Russell Chadwick Post #389 of Beverly. Aaron was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church of Columbus. He is survived by a daughter Diane Trinette (Neal) Offenberger of McConnelsville and a son Douglas Sterling (Kathy) Lowery of Galloway, 4 grandchildren Amy E. Flowers, Sgt. Joseph E. (Alina) Flowers U. S. Marine Corp., Elizabeth C. Lowery, and Ean D. Lowery, 2 great grandchildren Aaron E. Flowers and Eleanor J. Flowers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Gladys A. Myers Lowery and a brother Ariliss Darren Lowery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville with a masonic service at 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2106 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Walter Jones officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post # 24 Color Guard. Aaron will be laid to rest in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Columbus.
