Betty J. Knapp 82, of McConnelsville passed away January 31, 2017 peacefully at her home surrounded by her husband and her family.  She was born November 14, 1934 in Morgan County the daughter of the late Oval C. Hancher and Fannie B. Wilson Hancher and was raised in Bristol township. Throughout her lifetime, Betty was employed by McConnelsville Mayor's office and Malta Windows. She loved hosting family functions, having lunch with friends, attending sporting events and gathering at McKendree United Methodist Church with her church family. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gerald "Jerry" Knapp six children; Mark (Nancy) Knapp of McConnelsville, Kimberly (Jeff) Baker of Twinsburg, Ohio, Michele (Tim) James of Stockport, Ohio, Jay (Tania) Knapp of San Diego, Ca., Kyle (Becky) Knapp of McConnelsville, Jennifer (Lonny) Jarrett of Zanesville, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one great-grandson expected in March; three step granddaughters; eight step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Carlos (Betty) Hancher  and a sister, Jeanette Hilaman; several special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Vera J. Myers. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the McKendree United Methodist Church  near McConnelsville with Pastor Lee Ann Dunlap officiating. Interment will be held in McKendree Cemetery at a later date.
