Welcome to the memorial page for

Brenda (Ray) Bunch

June 8, 1953 ~ October 22, 2016 (age 63) 63 Years Old

Brenda Ray Bunch, wife of Jim Bunch, of Banning CA, passed away on Saturday Oct. 22, 2016, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana, CA, of complications from Myelodysplastic Syndrome.

She was born June 8, 1953, in Zanesville, OH, to Kenton and Barbara (Smith) Ray. She and Jim were married on Sept. 26, 1989, at Lake Tahoe, NV.

She is survived by two sons, Clint (Kim) Foreman and Brian Foreman. She also has a step-daughter, Kim Bunch of Irvine, CA. She has four grandchildren, Max Foreman, Hunter Foreman, Adelle Bunch, and Jack Bunch.

Her two sisters survive her, Janice (Larry) Chapman of Zanesville OH and Karen Ray (Tim) McGovern of Florida. She also has two nieces and a nephew, Kayla (Michael) Dixon, Alyssa (Steven) Yancey, and Josh (Nikki) Aber. She will be missed by her fur babies, Mollie and Rubie.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bradley Foreman; and step-son, Jon Bunch.

Brenda graduated from Morgan High School and continued her education at Ohio University Zanesville, where she received her degree in Nursing. She worked as a RN for 34 years in McConnelsville, OH, Zanesville, OH, South Carolina, and California. She enjoyed her career as a nurse and made many lifelong friends at each place she worked. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, she became an advocate.

She walked in the Susan G. Komen three-day 60-mile at age 60 and started a blog called “Survivor Sisters” for women and family members who were in all stages of cancer. She and Jim loved to travel and visited many places that gave them wonderful memories. She loved live entertainment and enjoyed her times listening to her friends perform. Her retirement brought good times back in Ohio with family and longtime friends. Although she was in CA for 30 years, she always maintained her status as a “Buckeye” and kept in contact with her Morgan County friends. She enjoyed her many friends all over the country who became more like family and especially loved her “Sun Lakes” girls
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am November 19, 2016 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home with David Bucey officiating.
