Welcome to the memorial page for

Delmar "Marcus" Glenn

September 10, 1940

Delmar  “Marcus” Glenn, 76, of McConnelsville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at his home.  He was surrounded by the love and laughter of his family until his final moments on earth.    A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00-3:00pm, Wednesday November 9 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home, 62 S. 7th Street, McConnelsvile, Ohio 43756.  Military honors will follow.

Marcus was born September 10, 1940 in McConnelsville, Ohio to Delmar and Mabel Glenn.  He graduated from Malta & McConnelsville High School in 1958 and from, C Tech. College, as he loved to call it.

On January of 1972 he met and married the love of his life Fong Tam.  Together they raised three beautiful daughters in Gahanna, Ohio.
He lived for a good cup of Starbucks coffee, his mother’s recipe of broccoli cheddar soup and he always had gum on hand for his many grandchildren.
He enjoyed staying in shape by his love of running, attributing it to his army years.  He was an avid reader of Bill O’Reilly (yes, he named his beloved dog O’Reily after him), politics, and running books.  Every time his children called him he would inform them of the local weather forecast which was one of his favorite hobbies.

Marcus was loved by many…he had a quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor (at times getting him in trouble).  He was a private man who gained friends while hanging out at Starbucks here in Columbus and even when visiting his daughter in Arizona.  Even though he kept to himself he loved a great conversation, about OSU football and especially with other retired Army veterans about the good ole Army days.  In fact his daughter Rita made him a MACV1 J6, U.S. Army Saigon, Vietnam shirt so when he went to work out he could proudly talk to others about life overseas.

Marcus is survived by his loving wife, Fong of 44 years, his three daughters, Mona, Anna (Mark) and Rita (Bryan).  His six grandchildren; Lina, Olivia, Reese, Piper, Levi, Isabel and the rest of his family and friends.  Marcus is preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Mabel Glenn; two sisters, Vivian Glenn and Katherine Bott; and his devoted dog, O’Reily
