Donald D. Long, 92, of Stockport passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Riverside Assisted Living in McConnelsville. Don was born June 15, 1924 in Marietta Township, Washington County  to the late Lewis Osborn and Blanche Taylor Long. He was a member of several farm organizations and Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Don was a 1943 graduate of Marietta High School. In 1959 he moved to Morgan County and went into farming with Weinstock and Long farms. In 1996 he married Gertrude Weinstock who passed away in 1997. On March 22, 2003 he married Gladya Childs. Don is survived by two step sons Phil (Teri Lynne) Childs of McConnelsville, Alan (Joyice) Childs of Athens, a step granddaughter Colby (Brent) Schmitt of Pickerington; two step grandsons Colton Childs of McConnelsville and Jesse (Julie) Childs of Ocala, Fl. In addition to his parents, and his first wife, he was preceded in death by his second wife, brothers John Denver and Richard Long; and sisters Beulah Congleton and Geraldine Weinstock. Calling hours will be Friday, August 19, 2016 from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Walter Jones officiating. Don will be laid to rest next to his wife Gladya in McConnelsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the M. & M. Fire Dept. or to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
