The Piano Brothers

Doris DeFaye Costello, a gracious and selfless caretaker to both her patients and her loved ones, peacefully passed Sunday night in McConnelsville, OH. She had just turned 86. Mrs. Costello, the daughter of Eva D. Doty and Irwin T. Doty, was born in Mahwah, NJ. She attended The Ohio State University in 1949. Mrs. Costello played varsity basketball at Ohio State, receiving her varsity letter 1950-1952. She met William J. Costello, a cheerleader at Ohio State, her freshmen year, and they married in 1952. They raised six children together. Upon graduating from Ohio State in 1954, Mrs. Costello served as a Registered Nurse. She retired in 1987. After living in Bexley, OH for several years, Mrs. Costello and her husband built their dream home on a large, family-owned property in McConnelsville. The property had always been important to Mrs. Costello as it has been in the family since 1803. Mrs. Costello was very proud of her family’s history. She was installed as a member of The First 100 Families in Ohio by the Ohio Genealogical Society. Mrs. Costello was the past president of the Catholic Women’s Club, a member of the Never Silent Club and the Mother’s Club, and a member of several bridge clubs in McConnelsville. Family will receive visitors Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, OH from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday morning, there will be a 10 a.m. funeral mass at St. James Catholic Church in McConnelsville, OH, and family and friends are also invited to attend the grave-side service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Columbus, OH at 2 p.m. She is proceeded in death by William J.
