Freda E. Cassady 79, of Malta, passed away at 10:35 p.m. June 4, 2016 at her home . She was born June 30, 1936 in Athens County the daughter of the late  Francis Strausbaugh and Bessie Boyer Strausbaugh.  She loved to cook and the outdoors and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband John Cassady, daughters Linda (Richard) Sluss of New Plymouth, Ohio, Tina (Chris) Shrewsberry of Venice ,Fla., Christine (Larry) Manter of Columbus, Rhonda (Vernon) Smith of Seminole, Fla. nine grandchildren and their spouses, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, her daughter at heart Brenda Lamblin of Portsmouth.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Ernest Johnson, sister Frances Nogrady, brothers James, Richard, and Charles Strausbaugh. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 8, 2016 .
