Ila Jean Palmer, 88, of McConnelsville passed away at 2:54 a.m. Wednesday December 7, 2016 at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. She was born March 31, 1928 in Morgan County to the late Wilkes Richardson and Ellen Ritchey Richardson. Ila Jean was a homemaker and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Valley Chapter #19 O.E.S. of McConnelsville where she served as past matron, organist, and star point. She was also a grand representative for Kentucky and Ohio in Eastern Star. She was a member of the Wednesday night M.& M. Fire Dept. wive's card club and had served as a E. M. T. and squad volunteer for the M. & M. Fire Dept. E.M.S. Ila Jean is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald E. Palmer; two daughters, Nancy (Rick) Huck and Linda (Donnie) Mosier all of McConnelsville; a son, Rick (Staci) Palmer of Zanesville; 6 grandchildren, Jason (Emily) Huck, Jessica (Jason) Cooper, Dr. Amanda Palmer, Bradley Palmer, Madison Mosier, and Dakota Gonzalez; 3 great grandchildren, Joel Huck, Ella Huck, and Crosley Cooper. Also surviving is a special great niece, Kelly White Zumbro of Zanesville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dwight and Carl Richardson and stepmother, Helen Still Richardson. Calling hours will be Friday, December 9, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville with an Eastern Star service at 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Walter Jones officiating. She will be laid to rest in McConnelsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice, M. & M. Fire Dept., or the Trinity United Methodist Church of McConnelsville.
