James Philip Ridenour , 66 of McConnelsville , passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at his home. He was born in Lancaster, Ohio on January 7, 1951 to the late William Soloman and Esther May Ridenour. He worked as the director of Morgan County Dept . of Human Services, doing what he loved, helping the citizens of Morgan County. He retired in 2007. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He attended the Main Street Church Of Christ in McConnelsville. He enjoyed camping, traveling, golfing and working in the yard. He enjoyed cheering on the Ohio University Bobcats and the Bengals. He also enjoyed making people laugh and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Diane Garrett Ridenour; two daughters, Kelly (Lonny) Breen of Edgerton, Natalie (Sean) Kehl of Zanesville; four grandchildren; one sister, Becky (Gary) North of Wilmington; one brother, John ( Mary) Ridenour of Texas; and several nieces and nephews; and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by his niece, Ashley Rogers. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. Tuesday, at the Main Street Church of Christ with Evangelist Vernon Eldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Dutch Hill Cemetery with Military rites by the American Legion Post 24 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to Stroke Camp. 200 W.
