Jody Dorene Spencer, 66, of Zanesville passed away Monday April 24, 2017 at The Oaks At Northpointe in Zanesville. She was born July 18, 1950 in Marietta to the late Herman Spencer and Dorothy "Dolly" Mark Spencer. Jody attended The Ohio State University. She was the co-founder of Giacomo's Bread & More on Maple Ave. and was an integral part of the Adornettos Family of Restaurants in Zanesville. Jody previously had worked at the Citizens National Bank in South Zanesville. She was a former member of the editorial board of the Times Recorder and was also a member of the North Terrace Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, good wine, macrame, and most of all, walking on the beach and hunting for seashells. She is survived by her fiance, James Adoronetto of Zanesvile; a brother, John Lawrence and wife, Esther of Granville; a sister, Beth Shrivers of Westerville;  two nephews, Christopher Shrivers of Centerville and Mark Lawrence of Pastakala; three nieces, MacKenzie Chavez of Cincinnati, Amanda Brownrigg of Springboro, and Debbie Patete of Thornville; and several great nephews and nieces. Also surviving are close friends, Adrian and Erica Adoronetto of Zanesville and her beloved chihuahua, Rio Conchita Consuelo Marie Spencer. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Galen Finley officiating. Jody will be laid to rest beside her mother at the McConnelsville Cemetery.
