Velma Eileen (Apperson) Morrow, 89, of McConnelsville joined her Lord and Savior on September 28, 2017. She passed away peacefully at her home. Eileen was born on December 29, 1927 in Windsor Twp. on Newton Ridge near Stockport. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Burdella (McKibben) Apperson. Eileen was well known for her homemade pies and homemade noodles. She also enjoyed quilting, making more quilts than could ever be counted in her lifetime. Eileen worked as a beautician for years,  and then retired from Morgan Local Schools where she worked as a school cook. She was a longtime member of McKendree United Methodist Church as well as a 68 year member of the Neelysville Grange. On November 27, 1948 Eileen married the love of her life, Leland Morrow and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Eileen is survived by one brother, Duane Apperson and one sister Mary Duncan. Also surviving are a daughter in law, Anna Morrow, a daughter, Marlene (Jeff) Dulaney, and two sons Richard Morrow and David (Tammy) Morrow. In addition to her children she is survived by 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leland, a brother Sherman Apperson, and a son Deane Morrow. Calling hours will be Sunday October 1, 2107 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the McKendree United Methodist and from 10:00-11:00 Monday October 2, 2107. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church with Pastor Lee Ann Dunlap officiating. Eileen will be laid to rest beside her husband Leland in the McConnelsville Cemetery. Miller-Huck Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the M. & M. Fire Dept. & E.M.S. or to the McKendree United Methodist Church.
