Walter James Shepard, 70, of Stockport passed away Sunday, January 21, 2108 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born August 7, 1947 in Morgan County to the late Ira D. Shepard and Daisy Hambel Shepard. Walter worked at Taylor Woodcraft for 29 years and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Cornerstone South Church of McConnelsville. Walter gave the gift of life through organ donation. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue Clark Shepard; four daughters, Michele Boring of Stockport, Shannon Pope of Malta, Tabitha Bloomfield and Kristina Shepard both of Stockport; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters; Linda Kirkbride of Pataskala and Julia Hallowell of Lansing, Mi. and a brother, Alden Shepard of Stockport. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Shepard. Friends may call Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 26, 2108 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone South Church with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Smith Chapel Cemetery.
