William F. Chipps

October 13, 1943 ~ November 27, 2017 (age 74) 74 Years Old


Another farmer has been called home. William F. Chipps, 74, of Beverly passed away on November 27, 2017. He was born into a dairy farm family on October 13, 1943 in Morgan County to the late William R. Chipps and Edith M. Doak Chipps. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Fort Frye High School where he played basketball, he was a bowling champion, and an active member of FFA. His love of sports continued through the years as he coached elementary basketball at Beverly Elementary for 12 years. Bill and his wife Donna were owners of Meigs Creek Farm where he raised Ayrshire cattle.  He raised state and national championship Ayrshires. Before sun up to past sun down you could fin him out in the barn or in the fields. In 1972 he married, Donna M. Parmiter. They raised four children, Diane Shriver (Dute), William D. Chipps (Bub) (Fiancee Brandee Nau), Susan M. Chipps, (Sam) Walter F. Chipps (James) (Ashley). Grandchildren Clara and Rodney Shriver, Katelyn Loos, Timber (Stump), William F. (Chill), and Lydia (Beetle) Chipps also Denise Gingerich (Puddin-tang). two great grandsons Tim Shriver and Mason Loos. Also surviving are his sister Nancy (Don) Chappelear, a brother Larry (Mary-Ellen) Chipps, an aunt Annabelle Rohrer and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, as well as many cousins and many friends. He joins his parents, his aunt, and uncles. The family will honor Bill's request that no services will be held and a cremation will take place. Bill will be laid to rest at the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad or the Pisgah United Methodist Church. A special Thank you to Dr. Pattali at the Strecker Cancer Center in Marietta and to the Marietta Hospice doctors and nurses. Miller-Huck Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
