My husband and I drove past the Chipps farm on Thanksgiving Day, on our way to Beverly to meet friends for dinner. I knew Bill had not been well and commented as we passed the farm that I wondered how he was doing. Little did I know I would soon hear the sad news of his passing. Bill and I were classmates all the way through school from grades 1 to 12. He was always quiet and good-natured - just a really nice person. It was a surprise and total delight to see him again at our 50th reunion in 2011. We were all so glad he came! Several years ago I had the pleasure of meeting his daughter at the Beverly Library. My sympathy goes out to Donna and all members of Bill's family. His Fort Frye 1961 classmates will fondly remember him at our future reunions.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Joellyn Price Leget

We all enjoyed our friendship with Bill, Donna, and family and looked forward to our visits at the "barn" talking about our goose hunts, and the fort frye ball teams that Bill was a part of and how much he enjoyed coaching. Even when Bill felt bad he always made our day better for knowing him. It will be difficult when we head to the farm and not see him there. God bless.

Nancy and family: So sorry to hear of the passing of your brother. He was too young to leave this world too soon. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I also would like to thank you for kind words and thoughts at my mothers' passing last year. The kind gesture meant a lot to me. Prayers to your family.

Dear Bill Chips Family, I don't think you know me me but I was a classmate of Bill's and we were basketball teammates.
I am so sorry to hear the sad news of Bill's passing. We had a great time visiting and catching up on old times at our 50th class reunion. I am so glad he was able to attend and I told him how much I appreciated our time together as teammates, especially when he always looked to pass me the ball. LOL!!
Bill was just an all around good guy and I am proud to call him a friend.

Bill will be sadly missed. I have great memories of him as my coach and his towel he carried around during games.
