Carol A. (Siler) Nelson

Carol A. Nelson, 88, of Malta passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Highland Oaks Health Center. She was born May 20, 1935 in Cleveland a daughter of the late, Robert Siler and Charlotte Blecking Siler.  Carol was a homemaker and worked to keep the family and the farm going. She was involved  in PTO, the band, and many of her children's school activities. She was a member of the Tridelphia Methodist Church and served as a 4-H Advisor for many years. Carol served on the State of Ohio Simmential Association and the 4-H Ohio State Extension Advisory Board. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie L. (Barry) Earich of McConnelsville;  two sons, Keith A. (Karen) Nelson of Crooksville, Kevin L. Nelson and Helen Shaw of McConnelsville;  a sister, Nancy Baldner of Zanesville; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney L. Nelson. Calling hours will Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. and Monday, January 29, 2024 from 12-1 p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.with Tim Van Horn officiating and Carol will be laid to rest beside her husband in Deerfield Cemetery.
