Duane Apperson 86, of McConnelsville passed away at 7: 48 p.m. Wednesday , February 21, 2024 at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville with his family at his side. He was born February 4, 1938 in Morgan County the son of the late, Kenneth Apperson and Burdella McKibben Apperson. Duane worked at Gould Electronics and was an Army Veteran stationed in France from 1958 to 1960. He was a former member of the M&M Jaycees and enjoyed woodworking, he was an umpire and referee for high school sports, avid Ohio State fan. He was a loving father and loved his grandchildren and great grandchild. He is survived by two daughters, Laurie Kennard of Coshocton and Erica Apperson of Chardon ; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild; close friend, Mary Gessel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Elliott Apperson; a son, Scott Apperson; granddaughter, Macy Kennard; sisters, Eileen Morrow and Mary Duncan; one brother, Sherman Apperson. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. He will be buried beside his wife in McKendree Cemetery at a later date.
