Joe Cain Jr. Obituary

Joe Cain, Jr., 79, of Stockport passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. He was born April 9, 1944 in Stockport a son of the late, Joseph Cain, Sr. and Vera Rogers Cain. Joe worked as an electrician for the former Gould Corporation of McConnelsville. He was a U. S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Webb Lodge #252 F. & A.M. of  Stockport, the Lakeside Riding Club, and the VFW Post #4713 of Malta. He attended the Chesterhill Church of Christ and was a volunteer driver of the DAV van for 8 years. Joe was a graduate of Hocking College with a degree in heavy equipment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing,  horses, playing cards and going to auctions. Joe is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Kincaid Cain; a daughter, Elizabeth Cain and Bob Reed of  Stockport; two sons, Jeff Cain and Jon Cain both of Stockport; three grandchildren, Miranda Cain of Lancaster, McKenzie Cain and Matthew Cain both of Stockport; a sister, Carol (Fred) Morris of McConnelsville; and a brother, Carlos Cain of McConnelsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Cain. Calling hours will be Monday, February 19, 2024 from 12-2 p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral Home. A funeral service will  be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Galen Finley officiating. Joe will be laid to rest in Lightner Ridge Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #24 Honor Guard. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.miller-huck.com
