Betty A. Hancher, 88, of McConnelsville passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at her home. She was born April 24, 1930 in Caldwell to the late Homer Kuntz and Iva Henderson Kuntz Schimmel. Betty had worked as a cook for the M. & M. Grade School. She was a member of the Mckendree United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She taught Sunday School at the church for many years. Betty was a member of the O.E.S. Chapter #19 of McConnelsville and was a past Worthy Matron. She was also a member of Malmac CCL and the Friendship Circle. She was a golden sheath member of the Neelysville Grange. Betty was an avid square dancer and she and her husband, Carlos spent 22 winters in south Texas. She loved her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her church family very much. She is survived by her husband of 70 plus years, Carlos Hancher; a daughter, Rebecca Hancher of Zanesville; a son, Ronald (Peggy) Hancher of Lancaster; 2 grandchildren, Scott Hancher and Justin Hancher both of Hillard; a brother, Dana Kuntz of Malta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louella Wiley and a brother Walter Kuntz. Calling hours will be Monday, July 2, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the McKendree United Methodist Church where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 with Pastor Lee Ann Dunlap officiating. Betty will be laid to rest in McConnelsville Cemetery. An Eastern Star service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the McKendree United Methodist Church. Miller-Huck Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
