Bobby C. Reed 86, of McConnelsville, passed away at 6:02 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville with his family at his side. Bobby and his wife Freda were successful business owners in Malta. He opened the Gulf Station which is where the Par Mar Station is located now. After a few years he and his wife opened the Reeds Dari Whip which they operated from 1963 to 1977. He was a veteran of the Korean War,he was a master mason belonging to the Doric Lodge #172 of Deavertown, and a member of the Morgan Shrine Club. He is survived by his wife, Freda Roberts Reed whom he married Oct. 6, 1956; sons, Michael (Kim) Reed, Timothy (Jill) Reed; daughter, Kimberly (Les) McMorrow; eight grandchildren, Tiffany (Derek) Hinkle, Staci (Stephen) Kirk, and Adam Reed. Courtney Wymer, Charly (Daniel) Southall, Carter Reed, Lauren Reed, and Prescott McMorrow; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Vera Alexander of McConnelsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters; Rhea June Reed, Reva Ribble, Eileen Snyder Calendine and a brother, Gerald Reed. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Pastor Galen Finley officiating, military rites will be held at the funeral home following the services. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Malta Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Highland Oaks and The Oaks at Bethesda for the excellent care and compassion he got while there.
