Doris DeFaye Costello, a gracious and selfless caretaker to both her patients and her loved ones, peacefully passed Sunday night in McConnelsville, OH. She had just turned 86. Mrs. Costello, the daughter of Eva D. Doty and Irwin T. Doty, was born in Mahwah, NJ. She attended The Ohio State University in 1949. Mrs. Costello played varsity basketball at Ohio State, receiving her varsity letter 1950-1952. She met William J. Costello, a cheerleader at Ohio State, her freshmen year, and they married in 1952. They raised six children together. Upon graduating from Ohio State in 1954, Mrs. Costello served as a Registered Nurse. She retired in 1987. After living in Bexley, OH for several years, Mrs. Costello and her husband built their dream home on a large, family-owned property in McConnelsville.
