Katherine Irene (Davis) Karaus of Bright, Indiana, died at 6:17 a.m. Sunday, Nov 17, 2019, at Hospice of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born April 27, 1954, Escondido, California to the late Harley Lewis Davis and Alberta (Rios) Davis. She was a 1972 graduate of Morgan High School. She was an educator in the Morgan Local School system for 19 years. She was a member of the Bright Area Business Association and a member of the Bright Christian Church. She enjoyed teaching and mentoring her students. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Kate is survived by her husband, Chuck Karaus of 17 years; mother, Alberta (Rios) Davis; sister, Patricia Boothe (Jim Patterson, fiancé) Longview, Washington; two daughters, Andrea Stroud, Bright, Indiana, April Davis, Wingett Run, Ohio; one son, Will(Rachael)Davis, Marietta, Ohio; Eight grandchildren, D.J. and Reilly Stroud, Cohen and Aidan Hopkins, Jefferson, Quintin, Maya and Killian Davis; stepmother to Chuck Karaus Jr and Katie Karaus, both of Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Harley Lewis Davis and her first husband, Jeffrey Lee Davis. Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, 11 a.m.–1:00p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, Ohio, with burial following at Fairview Church Cemetery.
