Ray F. Dingey

September 24, 1929 ~ May 3, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Ray F. Dingey, 87, of McConnelsville passed away at 10:46 a.m. Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born September 24, 1929 in Muesville in Muskingum County to the late Hersel Dingey and Loma Mahan Dingey. Ray was a farmer and was a veteran of the Army and the Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post #24, the V.F.W., and the D.A.V. He was a former township trustee for Bristol Township and was a former Morgan County Commissioner. Ray also had been the Morgan County Dog Warden and trucked livestock for many years. He loved to watch his grandchildren's sporting events and was very proud of their accomplishments. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Cory Dingey; 2 daughters, Becky (Bruce) Thompson of McConnelsville, Jacqueline Dingey and (John) of Quaker City; 2 sons, Allen (Pam) Dingey and Kenny (Kim) Dingey all of McConnelsville; 9 grandchildren Carlos and Benjamin Thompson, Derek (Kendra) Dingey, Danny Dingey and (Amber), Cory (Doris) Dingey, Cody Dingey, Cassie (Mike) Fluharty, Austin and Matthew Dooley; 5 great granddaughters Kali, Raelyn, Willow, Dixie, and Jody Dingey. Also surviving are 3 step grandchildren, Dianna, Destiny, and Dawson Thompson, a sister, Ann Arebalo of Baltimore and 2 sister-in-laws,  Belva Dingey of McConnelsville and Betty Dingey of Massillon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Vansickle and two brothers, Norman "Hoot" and Carlos Dingey. Calling hours will be Friday May 5, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 6, 2017 with Curt Cable officiating. Ray will be laid to rest at Bristol Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post #24 Color Guard.
