Roger N. Novaria

Rodger N. Novaria, 74, of Malta went home to be with the Lord, after a long battle with cancer. He passed away Thursday July 19, 2018 at his home with his family at his side. Rodger was born December 15, 1943 in Zanesville, Ohio. He was an avid Ohio State football fan, NASCAR fan, fisherman, hunter, and farmer. He worked for the Philo Ohio Power Plant, Peabody Coal Company, and Quickway carriers. Rodger was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 54 years, Andrea (Lynn) Novaria; his brother, Tom (Bev) Novaria; and his sister, Patricia (Mike) Inman. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Sandy (Kevin) Sparks; his children, Christy (Bob) Jones, Connie (Gary) Zumbro, Cherie (Jason) Rex, James (Shannon) Novaria and his grandchildren;  Derek (Kimberly), Devan and Dusty Jones, Cory (Sarah) and Renee Dille, Randi and Cody Zumbro, Sydney (Trace) Schaad and Bradi Rex, Bailey and Brock Novaria. His great grandchildren; Khloe, Saydee, Bristol, Brody, Wylee, and Brynlee. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ida Dora (Whitehead) Novaria, his brothers; Gary (Janet), Dean (Karen), Rick (Sue), David and Gregg Novaria. In his last days he stated "I'm going from a good place to a better place, I can't lose." Following Rodger's wishes a cremation will take place and a private graveside memorial service will be observed by the immediate family members.
