Carl Moore Obituary

Carl E. Moore  96, of McConnelsville, passed away at 1:30 a.m. November 9, 2021 at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. He was born August 24, 1925 the son of the late, Melvin (Mac) Moore and Elda Bliss Imley Moore. He was a 1943 graduate of Philo School, enlisted in Navy soon as he graduated, following basic training at Great Lakes he went to Armed Guard Branch and went through gunnery school, spent most of the time in European Theater. He was discharged in 1946 one month shy of three years. He drove truck for Cottage Creamery for five years. He worked at Finley Packing Plant for 13 years until it closed. He worked for Lawrence-Nesselroad local builders, and then had his own electrical business until retirement. He spent 3 winters in Florida and was a township  trustee for Meigsville Township for 24 years. He was a 50 Year member of the Neelysville Grange and a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He is survived by his children; Carol (Ron) Shook of Blue Rock, Edsel Moore of McConnelsville and Connie (Roger) Spencer of Stockport; six grandchildren, Jerry (Dawne) Shook, Beth Shook, Adam (Brianne) Shook, Nicole (Nathan) Coleman, Jason (Colleen) Spencer and Miranda Moore; 11 great grandchildren, Hayden and Issac Shook, Lauren and Logan Lyon, Spencer Shook, Hunter, Gage and Grant Spencer, Preston, Peyton and Mya Coleman; sister in law, Dorothy Moore of Blue Rock; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman L Moore and Cecil W. Moore. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. to 1 :00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2012 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Walter Jones officiating. He will be laid to rest in Ebenezer Cemetery with Military rites by American Legion Post 24 Honor Guard.
