Carmeda C. Taylor, 89, 0f Malta passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at her home with her family at her side. She was born February 18, 1933 in McConnelsville, a daughter of the late Paul Scott and Wilma Clawson Scott Waxler. Carmeda was a homemaker and was a member of the Malta United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Malconta Garden Club and was a 4-H Advisor for many years. She was a seamstress for 60 plus years and a baker for 50 plus years. She was well known for her sugar cookies, wedding and birthday cakes. Carmeda also enjoyed painting and was a member of the Howard Chandler Christy Art Guild. Most of all, she loved being a grandma. She is survived by two daughters, Christy Taylor of Malta, Cheryl Hanson of McConnelsville; two sons, (James) Paul Taylor and Jeff (Regina) Taylor all of Malta; a sister, Penelope Atkinson of Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Taylor; and a brother, David Drake. At her request, a caring cremation will take place and a memorial service will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Malta United Methodist Church.
