Carol Nelson Obituary

Carol A. Nelson, 88, of Malta passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Highland Oaks Health Center. She was born May 20, 1935 in Cleveland a daughter of the late, Robert Siler and Charlotte Blecking Siler.  Carol was a homemaker and worked to keep the family and the farm going. She was involved  in PTO, the band, and many of her children's school activities. She was a member of the Tridelphia Methodist Church and served as a 4-H Advisor for many years. Carol served on the State of Ohio Simmential Association and the 4-H Ohio State Extension Advisory Board. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie L. (Barry) Earich of McConnelsville;  two sons, Keith A. (Karen) Nelson of Crooksville, Kevin L. Nelson and Helen Shaw of McConnelsville;  a sister, Nancy Baldner of Zanesville; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney L. Nelson. Calling hours will Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. and Monday, January 29, 2024 from 12-1 p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.with Tim Van Horn officiating and Carol will be laid to rest beside her husband in Deerfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like  memorial contributions to be made to the Morgan County Agricultural Society. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
