Carolyn K. (North) Hambel

Carolyn K. Hambel, age 78 of Malta, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Carolyn was born April 8, 1942 in Athens County to the late Virgil and Doris (Smith) North. 

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth E Hambel, Sr. Together they had four children, Barbara Hambel of Glouster, Darlene Hambel of Malta, Brenda (Doug) Coffman of Heath and Kenneth Hambel, Jr. of Malta. Seven grandchildren, Jessica (Greg) King, Kayla (Corey) Poindexter, Abby and Dustin (Antika) Cordle, Warren Castle, Taylor (Nick) Alspach and Caleb Hambel. Nine great-grandchildren, Baileigh Campbell, Laylah and Kadyn King, Cameron and Norah Alspach, Kaely and Kinlee Cordle and Wyatt and Macie Williams. She is also survived by a sister, Deborah Hooper and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Sutton and Sharon Jean North, and a brother, Clarence North.

Carolyn was a homemaker and formerly owned and operated Hilltop Country Market. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, taking rides in her golf cart and most of all, spending time with her family.

Calling hours will be observed on Sunday, October 18th from 2-5 pm at Miller Huck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, October 19th at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in Rosseau Cemetery. Special thanks to Greg Vaughn. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriver's Hospice.
