Dana L. Kuntz, 91, of Malta passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born September 22, 1931 in Brookfield, Noble County, Ohio a son of the late, Homer Kuntz and Iva Henderson Kuntz. Dana was retired from the former McConnelsville Tire Shop where he had worked for 45 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War served in 2nd Batallion, 169th Infantry Regiment, 43rd Division Nuremberg, Germany and was a member of the American Legion Post #24 of McConnelsville. Dana was a member of the Seventh Street Church of Christ in McConnelsvillle and loved country music and Google. After retirement he worked on tractors and mowers at his home in Malta for many years. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Dana is survived by two daughters, Debra Kuntz of Parma, Lela (John) Strickland of Rochester, N.H.; two sons, Danny (Carole) Kuntz of Rochester, N.H., Frank Kuntz of Malta; a step daughter, Rebecca Day of Mason; two step sons, John Stephen (Crystal) Barker of Ray, OH, Robert Earl (Donna) Barker of Nashport. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Able Kuntz; second wife, Eleanor Jean McElfresh Barker Kuntz; two sisters, Louella Wiley, Betty Hancher; and a brother, Walter Kuntz. Friends and family may call Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Seventh Street Church of Christ where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Trevor Gilliland officiating. Dana will laid to rest in Malta Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post #24 Color Guard. Miller-Huck Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
