Danny J. Liff

Danny Liff was born December 30th, 1944 in Zanesville, Ohio.

He passed away a faithful member of Jehovah’s Witnesses and looked forward confidently to the prospect of a future life without end, knowing that such a blessed time is in the near future.  He had faith that his death was but a short nap until he will be resurrected into the new system.  He took every opportunity to share the truth with other people.  He was known for his strength, integrity, loyalty, fairness and kindness.

Danny was a skilled furniture craftsman who worked for Taylor Woodcraft until they closed, then for Beiler Custom Cabinets, both located in Malta, Ohio.

Those fortunate to be close to Danny got to see the playful side about him.  He was always trying to lighten the mood and make you smile. He would tell so many entertaining stories about his life. 

Later in life, Danny spent his days in his “happy place over the hill” on his John Deere tractor at the Liff residence.

He loved to garden, work in the flowerbeds, plant and cataloge the trees, wildflowers and the birds.  He soon realized cutting the trees down with the saw was way more fun.  He could drop a tree exactly where he was aiming and only the trees lost their limbs, even though we did have a near miss one time.  But that didn’t stop him.  He couldn’t wait to start planning the next tree to drop.

When Danny couldn’t get out over the hill during bad weather, he loved to watch old western movies, Gunsmoke, do jigsaw puzzles and spend time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lora who was the love of his life; children, Joe (Beth) Liff, Rose Liff; grandchildren, Brooke Cibich and Benjamin (Tamara) McHenry.

He passed away March 13th, 2026 surrounded by his loving family or what Danny liked to call “his whole world”.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 1:00pm at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 65 Church Dr., McConnelsville, OH 43756.

A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at a later date.
