David H. Allen

David H. Allen 79, of McConnelsville, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Sept. 2, 2023 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta.  He was born Nov. 2, 1943 in Winfield, Kansas the son of the late Ulric Allen and Lavada McMurry Allen.  David was retired co-owner of the Muskingum Valley Grocery in Malta, Ohio. He was a member of the Trinity  United Methodist Church in McConnelsville, Army Veteran, member of American Legion Post 24 of McConnelsville, sixteen year member of the ESGR.  He is survived by his wife, Karin Pfannschmidt Allen; daughter, Heidi (Ryan) Mayle of Chesterhill; son, MIchael (Pam) Allen of McConnelsville; five grandchildren, Hannah, Keala, Carter, Derek, and Arielle; great grandchildren, Tatum and Luka; one sister, Judy(Tom) Hancock of McConnelsville.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023 at McConnelsville Cemetery  with military rites by Legion Post 24 Honor Guard.
