David Michael Nowak, 77, of McConnelsville passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025. He was born November 26, 1947 in Rochester, NY. Dave moved with the family to Wayzata, MN where he spent his teen years, and kept the family well supplied with Dairy Queen treats from his first job. He graduated from the University of MN, Duluth with a business major, but with lots of hours in architectural design, an early interest. Dave embarked on a career in graphic arts, following his father's footsteps and working for Eastman Kodak. His career took him to Rochester, NY and Salt Lake City, UT, working for Color Litho and starting his own company, Color Media. After retirement, he spent time in Naperville, IL and finally moved to McConnelsville, OH. He kept busy working for Morris Hardware. Work, however, did not define Dave. He was a passionate lifelong learner and curious about everything. Dinosaurs, fossils, hiking, plants and landscape design and dragon kites (owning both a 25' and 70' kite). He was a creative and enthusiastic chef, and most people who ate his amazing creations agreed he should have opened up a restaurant. Although in his younger years Dave was absolutely the original sharp dressed man, he was equally comfortable hiking in the mountains, or bringing his young son to sit in the outfield of the Indy 500. Dave was the son of Chet and Anne Nowak (Schwartz), brother to Dick, Tom, Pat (Chapman) and Susan (Moritz). Father of Richard, John, Ryan, and Bailey. Husband to Mandie (Stemple). Loving grandfather and uncle. Lifelong friend of Tiana Vollbrecht. To a father of fathers, through thick and thin you were always there for us, thank you. At Dave's request, cremation will take place. Miller-Huck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
