Dennis Robert Harrod, Sr.

Dennis Robert Harrod, Sr., age 67, of McConnelsville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2024. Dennis was born on January 20, 1957 in Flint, MI to the late Byron Harrod and Marilyn Theetge. He later moved to Georgia and then made his home in McConnelsville, Ohio with his wife, Becky. Dennis's love for fishing and hunting was almost as strong as his love for his family. He was a huge fan of all sports. He never met a stranger. Every person in the world, to him, was just a friend he hadn't met yet. Dennis met the love of his life, Becky, at Creative Packaging, where they both worked. After several years, he left there and ended up at Sims-Lohman, where he later semi-retired. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Rebecca Joann (Nelson) Harrod; 3 sons, Jacob Harrod, Matthew (Brady) Harrod, and William (Will) Jacob Claytor; 3 daughters, Amanda Lynn (Edward) Harrod-Hart, Stacy Jolene Baughman, and Misty Dawn McKelvey; 2 brothers, Mike (Denise) Harrod and Harold (April) Harrod; 2 sisters, Linda (Harrod) Spears and Shannon (Gary) Burchfield; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous beloved extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Robert Harrod, Jr., and his daughter, Rebecca Harrod. And now you know a little about the man, the myth, the legend-Dennis Harrod. He will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him. Friends and family may call Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 12-4 & 6-8 p.m.  at Miller-Huck Funeral Home  in McConnelsville with cremation to follow.
