Donald E. Roberts

Donald E. Roberts, 90, of Malta, passed away at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018, at his home.

He was born August 18, 1927, in Rural Dale, a son of the late Grover C. Roberts and Lucille Wallace Roberts.

He was self-employed and worked for Standard Oil and Clemens Sohio. He was also a Bulk Station Distributor for Sohio and retired after 35 years. He was a Navy veteran and served one year, a member of the Malta United Methodist Church in Malta, American Legion Post No. 24 in McConnelsville, Valley Lodge F&AM of Malta, Morgan Shrine Club, and Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge.

He is survived by his widow, Dorothy "Dottie" Roberts, whom he married March 3, 1949; daughters, Cheryl Darlene Worthington of Zanesville and Cynthia Ann (Dennis) Daley of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Troy Alexander, Ali (Aaron) Lawrence, Andrea Hanson, Tig Alexander (Nick Felix), and Dana Daley; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews,

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Bernice Simms and Bertha Belle Earich; and brothers, Dwight, Dale and Delbert Roberts.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 1, at the Malta United Methodist Church, with Pastor Elizabeth Reed officiating.

Burial, with Military honors by the American Legion Post No. 24 Honor Guard, will follow in Malta Cemetery.
