Donald Gene Spencer, 92, of Stockport passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at his home. He was born on the Spencer Farm, on Bald Eagle Creek located near Stockport on September 20, 1928. He is the son of the late Lorren and Edith Spencer. Gene married the love of his life, Edith "Ann" Westfall on November 21, 1948. Gene worked on the family farm and for Muskingum Valley Grocery until retiring. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Gene loved to garden, hunt deer, turkey, squirrel and dig yellow root and ginseng, but his biggest love in life was his "family". Gene is survived by his five daughters, Ruth (Gary) Gohring, Patty (Gerry) Demster, Karen (Jared) Ferguson, Brenda (Gary) Casto, and Ellen (Jr.) Hemry. Gene had seven grandchildren, Jonathan (Stevie) Gohring, Stacey (Mark) Donnally, Lori (Brian) Hosom, Nathan ( Candice) Casto, Danny Demster, Dustin (Heather) Casto, and Amanda Simmons. Gene also enjoyed having many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Janet Holland. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Ann; one great granddaughter, Kristina Donnally; two sisters, Louise Cole and Betty Williams; and two brothers, James Spencer and Carl Spencer. At his request, a caring cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held on the Spencer Farm on Bald Eagle Creek, Stockport at a later date.
