Obituary
Duane Meyer Lowe, 88 of Malta passed away peacefully July 29, 2021. He was born June 17, 1933 in Morgan County. He was a local business man, owning Western Auto, real estate broker and avid horseman. He raised, trained and drove Harness horses for over 60 years. His pride and joy was First Breath, he and First Breath were honored by the Ohio Harness Horseman's Association on January 19, 2019 and also by the House of Representatives from the State of Ohio followed by Final Breath, a triple crown winner and horse of the year in 2013 in Ohio. Duane is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol Sue Lowe; sister, Ellen Hill (Greg); son, Jeffrey Lowe; daughter, Julia Clemens; Josh Grahame; grandchildren, Brady Duane Clemens and Vada Sue Clemens. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rawleigh D. Lowe and Mildred M. Lowe; and brother, H. Donovan Lowe; and several nieces and nephews. At his request, a caring cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church 73 S. 9th St. McConnelsville.
