Edith Spencer Obituary

Edith Ann Westfall Spencer, 86, of Stockport passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at her home. She was born on July 1, 1933 in Lost Creek, West Virginia. Edith  was the daughter of the late Charles and Edith Westfall. Her family moved to Ohio. Ann, as she was known by family and friends, grew up outside of Malta. She married (Donald) Gene Spencer November 21, 1948. They lived on the Spencer Farm and raised 5 daughters. Ann was a devoted  wife, mother, grandma, great grandma and great great grandma. She enjoyed cooking, canning, and hosting meals for the holidays. Taking care of her family was Ann's #1 passion in life. Her favorite hobby was reading books. Ann was a member of the Stockport Church of  Christ. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Donald Gene Spencer; 5 daughters, Ruth (Gary) Gohring, Patty (Gerry) Demster, Karen (Jared) Ferguson, Brenda (Gary) Casto, and Ellen (Jr.) Hemry. Ann had 7 grandchildren, Jonathan (Stevie) Gohring, Stacey (Mark) Donnally, Lori (Brian) Hosom, Nathan (Candice) Casto, Danny Demster, Dustin (Heather) Casto and Amanda Simmons. Ann also enjoyed having several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Christina Donnally; and 2 brothers, Charles Westfall and Orlie Westfall. At her request, a caring cremation will take place. A memorial service for Ann will be held at her home on the Spencer Farm on Bald Eagle Creek, Stockport, Ohio at a later date. The family would like to give a special thank you to Buckeye Hospice, especially  Arva Lowther, Tresa Kennedy, and Jennifer Weaver. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buckeye Hospice.
