Fay E. (Bowler) Schweikert

Fay E. Schweikert, 82, passed from this life at 2:14 on Thursday, Dec 8, 2022 in her home in the presence of her husband and daughter.  She suffered from increasing physical impairment for the last 10 years of her life and then dementia for the past few years.
Fay was born in Houston, TX on June 4, 1940 to the late William W.  and Florence Cross Bowler.  She married Ed on May 4, 1963 in Akron, OH.  Fay was a graduate of Revere High School in Bath (1958) and of Flora Stone Mather School in Cleveland (now part of Case Western University) (1962), majoring in Home Economics/Dietetics.
Fay spent several years as a child on Firestone's Harbel Plantation in Liberia, West Africa, having many adventures. She lived and traveled in West Germany with her family while Ed was assigned there with IBM as well as a trip to Australia.  Fay and Ed visited Dave and family in China and traveled by train across the entirety of Russia, as well as taking many other trips. Fay loved cooking and her indoor plants and gardening as well as traveling with them, especially all the raucous trips to the Outer Banks with family including grandchildren and parents.  But most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Ed, daughter Jan of the home, sons Dan (Sarah) of Franklinton, NC and Dave, Carmel, IN, 3 granddaughters and a grandson, her brothers Pete (Denise) and Mike of Akron plus several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial Mass will be held Dec 29 at 12 noon at St. James Church, McConnelsville.  Internment will be Dec 30 at 12 noon at Lakeview Cemetery, Cleveland in her family’s plot.
