Frances Louise Smith Williams, 89, of Malta passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at her home. She was born July 25, 1931 in Morgan County to the late, Lee Smith and Ota Lynn Smith. Frances was a graduate of M. & M. High School, the Columbus Beauty School and worked in the field for 50 plus years. She also worked as a substitute teacher for Morgan Local Schools for 10 years along with helping during summers at the Fairgrounds Golf Course. Frances was a member of the Malta United Methodist Church, the Daughters Of The American Revolution, American Legion and Eastern Star. She was a devoted community member, loving mother and mamaw. She married the late Don Rex Williams on September 23, 1950. She is survived by a son, James Joseph Williams of Malta; three grandchildren, Kristin Anne Hallowell, Chelsi Dawn Fox (Joel), and Caden Lee Rex Williams all of McConnelsville; six great grandchildren, Masyn Hunter Hallowell, Mackenzie Jayde Hallowell, Macoy Woods Hallowell, Maxton River Hallowell, Peyton June Fox, and Parker Joel Fox all of McConnelsville. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ann Clapper and Marjorie Hammond; and two brothers, Robert Lee Smith (deceased in WW II) and Don Edward Smith. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, May 14, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Elizabeth Reed officiating. Frances will be laid to rest beside her husband in Malta Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Malta United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
