Gloria A. (Balderson) Thompson

Gloria A. Thompson 88, of McConnelsville passed away July 4, 2025  at her daughter’s home. She was born March 21, 1937 in Malta the daughter of the late, Fred Balderson and Esther Dudley Balderson.  Gloria was an active member of the Meigs Church of Christ. Gloria loved her church family and was called to serve others. She was a nurse for 30 plus years where she cared for others. Gloria loved others with her whole heart  and she was loved by many. Gloria is survived by her children, Daniel “Boone” (Theresa) Thompson, Debbie (Tom) Norman, Linda Thompson and Rick Edgar Bonar, Dixie (Bill) Styer, John (Kathy) Thompson; grandchildren, J.R. (Jennnifer) Thompson, Tracey Boyer, David Thompson, April (Jeff) Kennington, Tara Thompson, Corrie (Nick) Calendine, Cacie Jewell, Justin (Terri) Norman, Crista (Craig) Gee, Dustin (Kelley) Clapper, Julie Slack and Alan Stoneburner, Shannon Harrop, Jerad (Sabrina) Harrop, Tony Bill (Melinda) Clapper, Kimberly “Kimmer “(Kyle) Kennedy, Sarah Beth (Lou) Sedei, Emily Styer,, Andrew (Valerie) Thomas, Erika (Ryan) Hallman, Kristen Thompson and Brian, Stefanie (Jeremy) Hayes;  several great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Murphy and Nancy (Mike ) Smith; and a brother, John  (Brenda) Balderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Thompson; sisters, Marjorie, Jane, Colleen, Kay and Ruthie; and a brother, Buzz Balderson. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2025 at Miller-Huck Funeral home in McConnelsville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Meigs Church of Christ with David Couch officiating. She will be laid to rest in Meigs Cemetery beside her husband.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Meigs Church of Christ  Buliding Fund or the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio 2685 Armstrong Rd. Wooster, Ohio 44691.
