Obituary

Goldie M. Brothers 91, of McConnelsville, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Feb 16, 2023 at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. She was born July 4, 1931 the daughter of the late, Grover Townsend and Bertha Morris. She helped her husband, John run the family farm, attended  Ebenezer United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards. She is survived by her children, G. Kenneth (Mary) Brothers of Beverly, Glen  Brothers of McConnelsville, Freda (Tim) Van Horn of Malta; grandchildren, Teresa and Kelly Veyon, Tom and Kim Brothers, Mandy and Andy Hook, Debbie and Carl Crum, Josh and Renee’ Van Horn, Sarah and Sy (Buddy) Bridenbaugh; great grandchildren, Eddie and Delaney Veyon, Justin and Christa Veyon, Derek Veyon, Kerri and Tristen Patterson, Nate Brothers, Tyler and Katie Hook, Abby and Levi Crum, Will, Jase, and Quinn Van Horn; great great grandchildren, Jensen and Dallas Veyon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Brothers; four sisters; and two brothers; and one grandchild. Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb 19, 2023 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday with Tim Van Horn officiating. She will be laid to rest by her husband in Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shrivers Hospice in her memory.
