Harry Dean Kidd 85, of McConnelsville, passed away at 6:15 pm Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021 at Highland Oaks Health Center. He was born Dec. 28, 1935 in Whipple, OH to the late, Chester and Marguerite Statts Kidd. Having served in the US Army, he was a veteran and member of the Pioneer Sams Chapter 49 Camping Club. After working for 43 years as an overhead crane operator, he retired from Globe Metallurgical (Interlake) of Waterford, OH. He also enjoyed working on his Dad’s family farm. Harry graduated from M & M High School in 1955 before marrying the love of his life, Janet in 1957. He cherished spending time with his family, traveling, camping, and relaxing to bluegrass and country music. Harry was a joy to all and never met a stranger. He was a member of the Maple Avenue Church of Christ in Crooksville. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janet Snide Kidd; three daughters, Jodi Barker of Luray, KS, Deana (Howard) Reed of Corning, OH, Jaime (Tyler) Wisecup of Williamsport, OH; brother, Chester (Shirley) Kidd, Jr.; three grandchildren, Earl (Alicia) Wiseman of Luray, KS, Avery and Ella Wisecup of Williamsport, OH; one great grandson, Matthew Wiseman of Luray, KS; sisters-in-law, Trulia Kidd of Alvin, TX and Ann Snide of Coshocton, OH; several nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two stillborn daughters, Nancy Sue and Carol Ann; brothers, Walter and Larry Kidd; nephew, Terry Kidd; brothers-in-law, Charles Snide, Jr. and John “Jack” Snide. Friends may call 12 to 2:00 pm. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where services will be held at 2 p.m. with Robert Cosgray officiating. Burial will follow in McConnelsville Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post 24 of McConnelsville. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.miller-huck.com.
