Herb M. Bailey, Sr.

Herb M. Bailey, Sr., 91, of McConnelsville passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Riverside Landing Nursing & Rehab Center in McConnelsville. He was born October 7, 1930 in Portage County, Ohio a son of the late, Ira Bailey and Cora Wood Bailey. Herb was a farmer and retired maintenance worker and factory accountant at the former Gould Corporation in McConnelsville. He was a member of the Morgan County Farm Bureau. Herb enjoyed woodworking and loved his roses. He is survived by a daughter, Susan (Gary) Nicholson of Howard, Ohio; three sons, Herb (Cathy) Bailey, Jr., Randy (Cheryl) Bailey all of McConnelsville, and Larry (Lori) Bailey of New Concord; five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Posey Bailey; and three sisters, Erma Jean Bailey, Luella Bailey, and Lucy Jane Dotson. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 12, 2022  from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral home in McConnelsville where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Joe Vasarhelyi officiating. Herb will be laid to rest beside his wife Lillian in Meigs Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the M. & M. Fire Dept. and E.M.S.
