James E. Wilson, 82, of McConnelsville passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. He was born February 18, 1938 in Morgan County the son of Eva (Ponchak) and Ewell Wilson. Jim was raised in Meigsville Township by his maternal grandparents, Mike and Anna Ponchak. He graduated from M. & M. High School in the class of 1956. After graduation, Jim went to work for Cleveland Graphite Bronze. After a lay off, Jim served in the U. S. Air Force from September 1958 through September 1964. He worked for Interlake Inc. from May 1963 until October 1988. Jim also worked for Miba Bearings retiring from there April 30, 2002. Jim married Patricia (Radcliff) Wilson June 27, 1965. They are parents of Michelle (Gary) Downing of Knoxville, TN, and Michael (Diana) Wilson of Green Cove Springs, FL. Jim loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren; namely, Kristin Hallowell, Chelsi (Joel) Fox, Brandon Thompson, Brittney Thompson; great grandchildren, Masyn, Makenzie, Macy, Maxtyn, Peyton, Parker, Xander, Bradlee, Lily, Paisley and Emery. Jim served on the McConnelsville Village Council for 2 and 1/2 terms. He was a devoted member of the Main Street Church of Christ, having served as trustee and missions committee, until his illness did not allow him to continue attending. Jim was a 50 year member and P.M. of the Corinthian Lodge # 111 F. & A.m., 50 year member and P. P. of Valley Chapter # 19 O.E.S., 50 year member and P. H. P. of the Rufus Putnam Chapter R. A. M., 50 year member and P. M. Marietta Council #178 and a member of Marietta Commandry. He is also survived by a brother, Jerry (Michele) Wilson; sisters, Nancy Metcalf, Honey (Jack) Seevers; and a half brother, Bill Deal. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; brother, Kenny Wilson; and other numerous family members. Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Lee Barnhart officiating. Jim will be laid to rest in McConnelsville Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street Church of Christ or to Shrivers Hospice.
