James D. (Jim) Taylor 89, of Malta, passed away at 4:40 p.m. January 18, 2022 at his farm surrounded by his family. He was born September 1, 1932 the son of the late Lawrence Taylor and Gladys Barnhouse Taylor. Jim was a supervisor at Malta Manufacturing in Malta, member of the Malta United Methodist Church in Malta, U.S. Army Veteran, Owner of Taylor’s Dairy Whip in Malta, and worked at Cordray’s Dairy. He is survived by his wife, Carmeda Scott Taylor whom he married March 21, 1953; his children, Christy Ann Taylor of the home, Cheryl Hanson of McConnelsville, James Paul Taylor of Zanesville, and Jeffrey Dean (Regina) Taylor of Malta; five grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Hope Downing, Helen Boyd, Renee Kraft and Faryl Taylor; brothers, Donald, Andrew, Charles, Lawrence, and Roy Taylor, and an infant brother. Friends may call 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Malta United Methodist Church in Malta, where services will follow at 3:30 with Bryon Griffin officiating. Military rites will follow for Jim by the American Legion Post 24 honor guard. Miller-Huck Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
