Jaqueline D. (Sallee) McKinney

It’s with great sadness that we announce the death of Jacqueline D. McKinney who passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, surrounded by family at The Oaks at Northpointe in Zanesville, Ohio. Jackie was born on June 24, 1934, in Bexley, OH. She is the daughter of the late Carl Sallee and Louise Griesheimer Sallee. Jackie and her late husband James lived in their beloved house for over 40 years, where they grew life-long friendships and created a home that children, grandchildren, family, and friends loved to visit. 

Jackie enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and was a life-long member of the McConnelsville Garden Club. Additionally, Jackie worked as an office manager at Allwell Behavioral Health Services (formerly known as Six County, Inc.), where she worked until her retirement in 2011. Jackie and Jim were married for 58 years until his passing in 2012. They enjoyed spending their winters in Marco Island, Florida, and hosting guests at their home during the summer months. 

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Joanne D. McKee of Columbus, OH; grandson, Seth E. McKinney of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Elysa B. Roberts (Andy) of Zanesville, OH; sister, Joanne Sallee Thomas; and many loving friends; especially John and Jan Tredway and Carolyn and David Riley. Jackie is preceded in death by her late husband, James D. McKinney, her son, Jeff D. McKinney of Wheaton, IL, and two grandchildren, Tyler D. McKee of Columbus, OH and Michelle D. McKee of Columbus, OH. 

Services will be held at Miller-Huck Funeral Home located at: 62 S 7th St, McConnelsville, OH 43756 on Saturday October 16. Calling hours will be from 1:00pm-2:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm.
