Jared Joseph Ferguson

Jared Joseph Ferguson 83, of McConnelsville, passed away on June 4, 2023, surrounded by his family. Jared was born  February 15, 1940, son of the late Galen Ferguson and  Eleanor Walls Ferguson. Jared and Karen (Spencer) Ferguson were united in marriage on April 16, 1985. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jan Ellis. He is survived by his wife, Karen; three daughters, KIm (Rodney ) Huck of Waterford, Kathy (Ed) Huck of Beverly and Angela Gibson of Naples, Florida; two sons,  David (Michelle) Ferguson of Hackney and Mark Ferguson of McConnelsville. Jared was proud of his 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was Methodist by faith.  As an avid outdoorsman, Jared loved to  hunt, fish and trap. He was content to just sit on a hillside on the family farm and enjoy the  beauty of nature. He loved feeding the deer, birds and squirrels. He retired from United/ Sprint Telephone as a foreman in 1992. Jared will be laid to rest in Salem Cemetery  which adjoins the family farm. His little canine buddy, Murphy will miss him dearly. Friends  may call 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville  and one hour prior to the funeral at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral Home with Dan Hickerson officiating.
