Obituary

Kenneth J. McKee, 83, of Thornville passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House in Zanesville.  He was born May 6, 1940 in Reinersville a son of the late, Dayle McKee and Zola Teeters McKee.  Kenneth worked for Ohio Power at the Muskingum River Plant in control and maintenance for 22 years. He also was employed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Az. for 16 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran and was a member of the Clemente Amity Lodge #285 of Reinersville.  Kenneth was a lifetime member of the Scottish Rite  and enjoyed ham radios. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Helen Haines McKee; a daughter, Sharma Taylor of Thornville; a son, Jason Taylor of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Tyler Hite, Taylor Hartley, Colleen & Catherine Taylor; five great grandchildren, Lane Hite, Zoey & Parker Hartley, Kaylynn & Wyatt Hite. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian McKee; two sisters, Shirley Butler, Esther Williams; and two brothers, Wilbur McKee and Glenn McKee. Friends and family may call Monday, September 11, 2023 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with his good friend, Roger Sands officiating. He will be laid to rest in Bailey Ridge Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post #24 Honor Guard. A masonic service will be held at 12:30 prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to S.P.O.T. or the Morgan County Dog Warden. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.miller-huck.com
