Marjorie Ruth Osborne (June 30, 1929 - October 24, 2025) was the only child of Howard and Elizabeth Cowan of Malta. She graduated from Malta McConnelsville High School in 1947 and attended Ohio University. She married her high school boyfriend, David B. Osborne in 1952 and worked with him at Osborne's Sandwich Shop until his death in 1975. After that, she worked as the Activity Director at Mark Rest Center until she was 81. She was awarded the Activity Director of the year for the State of Ohio in 1985. She was very outgoing and was a member of dozens of clubs and organizations including Study Club, Garden Club, Mother's Club, the Council on Aging, the Widow's Circle and the Malta Methodist Church. She traveled extensively and enjoyed dining out with her friends, shopping and watching Ohio State University football games. She is survived by two sons, Jay Cowan Osborne and Jon Brooks Osborne; and her 20 pound cat, Boo Boo. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Shriver's Hospice or the Malta Methodist Church. Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 28 from 4-7 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home and a private funeral service on Wednesday the 29th. Her final resting place will be in the McConnelsville Cemetery.
