Maxine M. Bankes 94, of Zanesville, formerly of Malta, passed away peacefully March 25, 2026 at the Helen Purcell Home in Zanesville. She was born January 4, 1932 in Morgan County the daughter of the late, Branson Cramblit and Gladys Murphy Cramblit. She was a housewife and a member of the Morgan County Widow’s Group. She is survived by her son, Craig (Karla) Bankes of Zanesville; grandchildren, Brandon Bankes, Braden Bankes, Jenna Raver, Angie Hindy and Raymond Bankes; six great grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Coulson; and a sister in law, Ruth Orr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bankes; son, Bruce Bankes; grandson, Kyle Bankes; and siblings, Alta Travis, Mary Mehling, Ted Brown and Jim Brown. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2026 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where services will be held at 1:00. She will be laid to rest in Deerfield Cemetery beside her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helen Purcell Home 1854 Norwood Blvd. Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
