Mildred (Middie) Pickenpaugh Shuster, 87 of McConnelsville passed peacefully on June 3, 2025 at Highland Oaks in McConnelsville. She was born May 26, 1938 in Noble County the daughter of the late, Wayne Pickenpaugh and Lillie Murl Steen Pickenpaugh. Middie graduated from Caldwell high school where she was proud to be a cheerleader . She loved horses and liked to ride them fast and competed in barrel racing . Middie was a lifelong seamstress making many quilts and clothing for her family. Other hobbies included watching her grand children play sports, bowling, home canning, and watching the Cleveland Indians . She was also a retired cook at the Muskingum County Jail. She is survived by her husband, Donald Shuster who she married September 8, 1995; her children, Connie Wells, Carla (Scott) Marsh, Cheryl (Rick) Dunlap, Bill Warne (Christine); grandchildren, Angie (Kevin) Otte, Jennie (Logan) Schultice, Ryan (Sarah) West, Jake (Krista) Marsh, Stefanie Dunlap, Gregory Dunlap, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Dunlap, Laura (Curtis) Hallstrom, Reece (Ashley) Warne, Chelsy Warne (Sam Wilburn); 18 great grandchildren; stepdaughters, Teresa (John) Hope and Billie (Mike) Corns; step grandchildren, Tyler, Carrie, Jason and Sara; 13 Step great grandchildren; sisters, Norma Ralph, Ruthie Anderson, Diane (Terry) Frye; brothers, William (Quinn) Pickenpaugh, Earl (Rita) Pickenpaugh and Darrel (Kathy) Pickenpaugh. She also leaves behind her special sister in law, Cindy Shuster and special brother in law, Bill Shuster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by step son, David Shuster; and brothers, Elmer Rex Pickenpaugh and Donnie Pickenpaugh. The family would like to thank all the nurses aids, all staff for the care given to Middie at Highland Oaks and Shrivers Hospice for the special care they gave to her. Friends may call the Pisgah Methodist Church 7540 N Pisgah Ridge Rd. McConnelsville, Ohio 43756 from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025where services will be held at 2:00 P.M. with Galen Finley officiating. She will be laid to rest in Pisgah Cemetery. Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pisgah Methodist Church.
